This Policy describes the information we collect from you and how we use that information as well as how you can control access to that information. It applies to any of the Services that PLAYER LINK or any of its subsidiaries or affiliates provides.
When you create an account, we create a basic profile page for you on PLAYER LINK, containing your account name, the date the account was created, and a list of golf courses you have played rounds on. Whenever your account name appears on PLAYER LINK (for instance, when you post comments, send messages, or back projects), people can click your account name to see your profile. Here are some of the things that will be publicly viewable on your profile, or elsewhere on PLAYER LINK:
The account name, and the date it was created;
Any information you choose to add to your profile (like a picture, bio, or your location);
games you have played on golf courses.
Any comments you have posted on PLAYER LINK;
Please note that each profile page has PRIVACY SETTINGS that allow you to LIMIT access to this profile page from limiting the information shown such as setting it to not show your personal information and can be configured to only show your score card.
The following data will not be publicly displayed or revealed to other users:
Any payment information you provide;
Your password details;
Your IP address;
Your Facebook information (if given);
Your Geolocation information (if given).
Your Communications you send to us (for example, when you ask for support, send us questions or comments, or report a problem).
We never post anything to your Facebook, Twitter, or other third-party accounts without your permission. We do not and will not sell your data.
Information that is shared with trusted third-party services
We may share your information with certain trusted third-party services to help us provide, improve, promote, or protect PLAYER LINK's Services (like when we partner with payment processors, or use services that help us manage our ads on other sites). When we share data with third-party services that support our delivery of the PLAYER LINK Services, we require that they use your information only for the purposes we've authorized, and that they protect your personal information at least to the same standards we do. We may also share information that's aggregated and made anonymous in a way that it doesn't directly identify you.
We do reserve the right to disclose personal information when we believe that doing so is reasonably necessary to comply with the law or law enforcement, to prevent fraud or abuse, or to protect PLAYER LINK's legal rights.
We want to communicate with you only if you want to hear from us. We try to keep emails to a minimum and give you the ability to opt out of any marketing communications we send.
To modify or delete the personal information you have provided to us, please log in and update your profile. We may retain certain information as required by law or for necessary business purposes.
We retain your personally identifiable information so that we can provide you with meaningful customer service. If at any time you would like to have the rest of your personally identifiable information removed from PLAYER LINKs database, please contact us and we will use reasonable efforts to comply with your request. However, there will be technical information that remains in our databases, access logs and other records, which may or may not contain such personally identifiable information. This information will not be used for commercial purposes although we may, from time to time, communicate with former customers of PLAYER LINK.

You may choose to sign up for our feature email newsletters, which contain news of PLAYER LINK special offers and discounts. In order to receive the PLAYER LINK newsletters, you must provide us with your name, email address and your zip code. Signing up for member services..
You may choose to sign up for our free handicap service and membership pages. In order to have a PLAYER LINK account, you must provide us with your name, email address and your zip code. This information is not given to any third party.
Facebook account access optional
Members of the Playerlink website can OPT to connect their Playerlink membership account with their Facebook account. This allows them to "Log in using Facebook" for quick authentication and also allows quick access to list the Friends that you have on Facebook that have Playerlink accounts so that you can easily connect to them on Playerlink and log games played together etc..
None of this third party information is used for anything other then helping sign in quickly and connect with existing friends. This service allows this application to connect with the users account on the Facebook social network, provided by Facebook, Inc
GOOGLE MAPS access optional
Members of the Playerlink website can OPT to connect their Playerlink membership account with Google maps. This allows them to show what golf courses are physically close to you for easy logging and also provides the player with a Google satellite map of each of the holes played on most of the gold courses that they log.
None of this third party information is used for anything other then helping draw maps and show close by golf courses. This feature is OPTIONAL in your profile page and can be disabled.
Automatic Logging of Session Information.
We do automatically log technical information about your computers connection to the Internet, which we call "session information", that is anonymous and not linked to any personally identifiable information. Session information consists of things such as your IP address, operating system and browser software and the travel through the Site. Your IP address is a number that lets computers attached to the Internet, such as our web servers, know where to send you information such as the pages of the Web Site you wish to view. We collect viewers session information because it helps us analyze such thing as the way visitors are traveling through the Site, how many visitors are surfing to various pages on the Site, how long visitors to the Web Site are staying and how often they are visiting. It also helps us diagnose problems with our servers and lets us better our servers. Although such information does not identify any visitor personally, we can determine from an IP address a visitors Internet Service Provider and the geographic location of his or her point of access.
Blogs and Reviews
We cannot and do not control the acts of our customers or visitors. All customers and visitors should be aware that, when they disclose personally identifiable information in our reviews section or other areas on the Site, the information may be viewed and used by others to send that person unsolicited email. In the event that you encounter any person who you believe is improperly collecting or using information about you, please contact us.
If you sign up to receive our PLAYER LINK newsletter, we use the personally identifiable information that you provided at sign up to personalize the email that we send you. Such emails are sent on infrequently, and they will clearly provide you with a method of cancelling, if you decide you no longer wish to receive them. In addition, we may on occasion send you an email regarding an important announcement or policy change that may affect you.
If you sign up as a PLAYER LINK HANDICAP MEMBER we use the personally identifiable information that you provided at sign up to personalize the website for you and also provide a profile page that can be accessed at the url of http://www.playerlink.com/USERNAME
Non-personally Identifiable Information.
We use non-personally identifiable information in a summary form to build higher quality, more useful online services by performing analyses of the collective characteristics and behavior of our customers and visitors, and by measuring demographics and interests regarding specific areas of the Site. We provide statistical information based on this data to suppliers, advertisers, affiliates and other current and potential business partners. We may also use the aggregate data to inform these third parties as to the number of people who have seen and clicked on links to their web sites.
We take reasonable precautions to protect our customers information from unauthorized third parties. When you are prompted by the Web Site to enter sensitive information (such as your credit card number), that information is encrypted with the industry-standard encryption technology known as Secure Socket Layer (SSL). While on a secure page, the lock icon on the bottom of web browsers such as Microsoft Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator becomes locked. The servers on which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment. However, no method of encryption or security system is impenetrable. We cannot guarantee the security of our servers, nor can we guarantee that information that customers supply will not be intercepted while being transmitted over the Internet.
Other Important Matters Regarding your Privacy
Promotions and Contests If and when we sponsor promotions or contests, or third parties sponsor promotions or contests in conjunction with us, either we or the third party will post relevant privacy information in the official rules and/or registration area for the promotion or contests. That privacy information will govern that particular promotion or contest.
